Hand Dipped Ice Cream Cones

ice cream cones

These flatbread cones are as sweet as it gets, and easy to make with a little advance notice. Baked flatbread dipped in chocolate and then covered in nuts, candy bits, and sprinkles: it’s the perfect thing to hold your ice cream. Go ahead, splurge a little with your favorite flavor, or try a scoop of Enlightened Caramel Oatmeal Cookie Crunch, at only 100 calories a serving. Flatout Light Original flatbreads keep the calories low without sacrificing flavor. Indulgent and healthy? That, my friends, is a sweet deal! We just had to make a video to show you how fun it is:

Hand Dipped Ice Cream Cones

Ingredients

  • Flatout flatbreads (each flatbread makes 2 cones, we used Light Original)
  • Ice cream (we used Enlightened brand)
  • at least 1 cup melted chocolate chips
  • For dipping, any combination of:
  • Candy sprinkles
  • Mini chocolate chips
  • Chopped nuts
  • Chopped candy bars
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Cherries or other dried fruit

Directions

Preheat oven to 350°F. Cut flatbread in half down the middle, then roll into a cone shape and stuff with aluminum foil. Bake at 350°F for 5-10 minutes, then remove from the oven and let cool. Freeze the cones overnight.

Place all your topping ingredients in separate little bowls. Dip the cones, top and bottom, in melted chocolate, then coat with your selection of candy and nuts. Get creative and mix it up! Then, all you have to do is fill the flatbread cones with ice cream. It can be as sinful a flavor as you like, or as virtuous as Enlightened brand ice cream, the good-for-you ice cream, that’s 100 calories per serving.
